Oregon State will go for a second straight season sweep of Oregon Tuesday night at PK Park.
The fourth-ranked Beavers won all three conference games against Oregon last month by a combined score of 19-8. OSU added a 4-3 win over the Ducks last week and returns for a rematch at 5:30 p.m.
Oregon State has won eight straight over the Ducks by a combined score of 39-17 dating back to Oregon's last win on May 15, 2016.
The Beavers (35-7-1) are second in the Pac-12 at 14-6-1 after finishing in a 7-7 tie at Washington State Sunday in a game ended due to OSU's travel schedule. Second-ranked Stanford (37-6) leads the conference at 17-4 as it prepares to visit OSU for a three-game series beginning Friday.
Oregon State is No. 9 in RPI as it seeks to secure a top-eight national seed into the postseason that would allow it to play any regional or Super Regional games at Goss Stadium.
The Ducks (22-23) may have played themselves out of any postseason contention by falling to No. 84 in RPI after losing two of three games at UC Irvine over the weekend. Oregon is eighth in the conference at 8-13 as it stays home to host last-place Utah (12-32, 6-15) in a three-game series beginning on Friday.
Outfielder Jakob Goldfarb leads the Ducks with a .321 batting average and boosted his team lead with a sixth homer at Irvine. Third baseman Spencer Steer had two homers and eight RBIs in three games at Irvine to push his team high in RBIs to 34.
OSU shortstop Cadyn Grenier has a 19-game hitting streak, the longest for the program since 2006, while batting .378 with three homers during that stretch. Second baseman Nick Madrigal is batting .438 for the Beavers followed by catcher Adley Rutschman at .395.
