PULLMAN, Wash. — The Oregon State baseball team banged out 17 hits Saturday in a 9-1 Pac-12 Conference win over Washington State at Bailey-Brayton Field.
Michael Gretler and Adley Rutschman both had three hits for the Beavers (35-7, 14-6 Pac-12). Every Oregon State starter had at least one hit.
Steven Kwan, Nick Madrigal, Preston Jones and Troy Claunch all had two hits for the Beavers. Kyle Nobach homered for the second straight game.
That was more than enough support for Bryce Fehmel (6-1). Fehmel allowed the Cougars (14-25, 6-14) six hits and one run over 5 1/3 innings. He struck out two. Brandon Eisert took over from there, shutting out the Cougars over 3 2/3 innings of relief. He retired 11 of the 12 batters he faced.
The two teams close out the series at noon Sunday.
