PULLMAN, Wash. — Kyle Nobach hit a two-run home run and Adley Rutschman went 3-for-5 and drove in four runs to lead No. 6 Oregon State to a 17-3 victory over Washington State in Pac-12 baseball on Friday at Bailey-Brayton Field.
The Beavers (34-7, 13-6 Pac-12) got 20 hits off five WSU pitchers and put up seven runs in the seventh inning, sending 11 batters to the plate, to take a 14-2 lead. Rutschman and Michael Gretler drove in two runs apiece in the inning.
Steven Kwan and Nick Madrigal also had three hits for OSU, which moved within a half-game of UCLA for second place in the Pac-12 standings.
Luke Heimlich struck out 11 and allowed three hits over seven innings to earn the victory. James Rudkin went 2-for-3 for Washington State (14-24, 6-13), who managed just five hits for the game.
The teams continue the series with a 5 p.m. Saturday game.
