IRVINE, Calif. — UC Irvine scored twice in the seventh inning to defeat Oregon 2-1 Friday night.

Oregon (21-22) took the lead in the third inning when Spencer Steer hit a solo home run. It was the second homer of the season for the third baseman.

Oregon starter Kenyon Yovan threw six scoreless innings before giving up two runs in the seventh.

Konnor Zickefoose tied the score with a home run to open the seventh for UC Irvine (26-18). Ryan Fitzpatrick followed with a walk and was sacrificed to second base. Adrian Damla hit a two-out single to bring in Fitzpatrick with the winning run.

Yovan allowed six hits and two earned runs, striking out nine. Steer, Kyle Kasser and Ray Soderman had Oregon's three hits.

UC Irvine starter Andre Pallante allowed three hits and one earned run in seven innings, striking out nine.
