Oregon junior Liz Brenner was named to the second team on the American Volleyball Coaches Association all-America team, released Wednesday.
Brenner, who was also a second-team choice last season, led the Pac-12 with 4.67 kills per set and was second on the team with 3.15 digs per set.
Brenner led the Ducks to a 20-12 record and the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
Moore, Davis, Irvin earn preseason baseball honors
Former North Eugene High standout Andrew Moore, now pitching at Oregon State, was named a preseason second-team all-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association on Wednesday.
Moore, a sophomore right-hander, was the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year last season after winning 14 games last season, tied for best in school history.
Moore was joined by outfielder Dylan Davis on the team. Davis batted .335 and drove in 61 runs last season.
Oregon left-handed pitcher Cole Irvin was named to the third team. The sophomore had a 12-3 record last season with a 2.48 earned-run average and four complete games for the Ducks. He was a freshman all-American last year.
OSUís Cooks becomes consensus all-American
CORVALLIS ó Oregon State wide receiver Brandin Cooks was named to the Football Writers Association of America All-America first team on Wednesday, becoming the Beaversí second straight consensus all-America player.
Cooks, the Biletnikoff Award winner, had 120 receptions for 1,670 yards as a junior. He was named a first-team all-America by four of the five major organizations that bestow all-America awards. Cornerback Jordan Poyer was a consensus choice last year.
Saint Martinís defeats NCU 82-73 in menís basketball
LACEY, Wash. ó Ryan Rogers scored 19 points and Riley Carel added 14 to lead Saint Martinís to an 82-73 victory over Northwest Christian in menís college basketball on Wednesday night at Marcus Pavilion.
Austin Kuemper led NCU (7-4) with 21 points and seven rebounds, but the Beacons couldnít hold a 41-40 halftime lead. Northwest Christian shot 54 percent in the first half and 32 percent in the second.
Spencer Coleman added 19 points for NCU, and Coleton Baker had 14 points and five assists.
Lucas Shannon had 12 points for Saint Martinís (3-6).
OSU adds junior-college offensive lineman
CORVALLIS ó Offensive tackle Bobby Keenan of American River Junior College in Sacramento has signed a national letter-of-intent to play for Oregon State next season, the school announced Wednesday.
Keenan, who is 6-feet-7 and 280 pounds, was a two-year letter-winner and led American River to an 8-3 record last season.
He graduated from Rio Americano High in Sacramento. He is expected to start school at the beginning of winter term and participate in spring practice.
Moore will coach on Pac-12 trip to China
Oregon coach Jim Moore will coach a 12-member Pac-12 summer all-star volleyball team in China in June.
Each conference school will send one player to the team. Oregon libero Amanda Benson will play on the team, which will have at least six matches from June 17-27. A full schedule and the full team roster will be announced at a future date.
